Pitch Motherly for an individual spotlight about your journey of motherhood and entrepreneurship
We are thrilled to pass along an opportunity to get featured via Motherly for an individual spotlight!
Motherly is the leading storytelling platform for modern moms, featuring stories and advice that doesn’t pretend motherhood is easy—but aims to make every reader feel less alone. The multi-platform brand engages over 40 million moms every month across its site, social platforms, podcast, and newsletter.
They're super excited for Dreamers & Doers members specifically to contribute bylined, first-person essays (~700–900 words) on your journey and pro tips as a parent and entrepreneur/leader. (See a list at the bottom of this post for articles that our members have had published so far!)
This is a chance to share your lived experience at the intersection of motherhood, leadership, and entrepreneurship with an audience that deeply values authentic, vulnerable storytelling. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to work with our very own Editorial Director to polish your story before submitting it to Motherly, increasing its chances of getting published and helping your story shine in the best possible light. 💎 #VIPtreatment
We will be working directly with Motherly to produce several stories a month.
📣 One series they're especially excited to source for is "Nobody Told Me," where moms share the reality of a specific micro moment of parenting moment that isn't talked about enough. The goal is to create more transparency around motherhood while helping readers feel seen and inspiring empathy for experiences different from their own.
Some other themes Motherly might be especially interested in:
The surprisingly small change that made a big difference in your life as a working parent—from a family ritual to a boundary, system, or mindset shift that helped you navigate motherhood and entrepreneurship more sustainably
The emotional complexity of balancing motherhood with building a business or ambitious career
How becoming a parent changed your identity, leadership style, or relationship with ambition
A parenting experience that unexpectedly made you a better founder or leader
The systems, boundaries, or support that help your family thrive
The real-life problem you experienced as a mom that inspired you to build something better
Stories that explore what you wish someone had told you about motherhood
Honest reflections on how society could better support working parents and founders
And more! They’re excited by a wide range of deeply personal stories rooted in lived experience.
You are welcome and encouraged to submit multiple ideas to increase your chances of being selected! 🎉
➡️ Pitch your Motherly feature story idea(s) #DDExclusive
⏰ This is an ongoing opportunity with new pitches submitted roughly every two months, so please continue to submit new ideas!
Note: This opportunity offers direct, exclusive access to Motherly and they're excited to publish multiple stories with us per month, but keep in mind it’s still a selective process (unlike our #PRHypeMachine #ExclusiveMediaPlacement opportunities—our signature offering crafted by our in-house editorial team—which offer a close-to-guaranteed chance of getting featured). That said, the more compelling and unique your pitch, the higher your chances of being selected! 💫
Pro tips: When you pitch, think authenticity, specificity, and emotional honesty. What's a story that only you can tell? Motherly loves essays grounded in real moments that help readers feel less alone while offering reflection, perspective, or hope. On the flip side, what will prevent your ideas from being selected are overly promotional stories, generic parenting experiences, and pitches that lack specific moments or concrete details.
✨We're so excited to receive your submission(s).✨
