Alice Huang is the Founder of Growth Magic, an organization that helps solopreneurs break free from daily operations and focus on their high-impact, $10,000/hour tasks.

Alice’s drive for innovation, sharpened by living in eight countries across four continents, has given her a fresh perspective on business and adaptability. Growth Magic was born from a simple but profound problem she observed: solopreneurs were trapped in low-value tasks. Alice’s mission is to free them so they can focus on what truly moves the needle for their businesses.

We spoke with Alice about her experiences founding Growth Magic, the lessons she’s learned along the way, and her exciting plans for the future.

Tell us the story behind your company’s founding. How and why did you start working on Growth Magic?

Solopreneurs approached me wanting to free up their time. Founders often have the misconception that no one can do the task better than they can, so they live in their $10/hour and $100/hour tasks, and neglect the $1,000/hour and $10,000/hour tasks. I help them take a step back and visualize where they can delegate so they can focus on their $10,000/hour tasks.

What are some of the most meaningful impacts Growth Magic has had so far?

I managed to hire a small but mighty dream team for a doctor in London who has turned full-time influencer. We’ve quadrupled our followers, which has resulted in contract and partnership growth of 150% in less than eight months. More importantly, she has been able to spend significant time with her partner, who resides in Toronto and New York.

No woman is an island. It takes a team to do things well sometimes. It is important to learn to let go, delegate, and see my team members flourish and grow.

Have you ever felt like you’re “different”? If yes, in what ways has this contributed to your journey as an entrepreneur?

Yes. I started my first business when I was in third grade, selling drinks and candy to my classmates for profit. I’ve also always asked “why not” instead of “why.” Being very curious by nature, I have lived in eight countries across four continents, which has made me creative and adaptable.

What’s been the hardest and most rewarding part of your entrepreneurial journey?

No woman is an island. It takes a team to do things well sometimes. It is important to learn to let go, delegate, and see my team members flourish and grow. I feel so fulfilled and proud when my team grows and learns. I feel they are like my children who are becoming independent and developing into their own people.

We dare you to brag. What achievements are you most proud of?

Being able to build a small portfolio of properties in Texas from the ground up  while living in Canada. Also, passing on my expertise and knowledge of operating remote teams to the solopreneurs whom I help. Despite being new to Austin, I am already known as a local super connector. In addition, I published a crypto dictionary to help non-technical people understand crypto lingo, which has been tremendously rewarding.

How would you describe the journey you’ve had in a few sentences? Would you do it all over again?

I have been incredibly lucky to have been able to live and work in eight countries across four continents and become a top performer in many of them. I would perhaps skip Montreal and move to Austin sooner.

What’s next for you and your career?

I am launching a matchmaking service for people who want to be in a committed marriage and have children. This project is both a passion project and my calling after my friends in Austin repeatedly asked me to help them find their person.
